Learning is a thrill for me too

Hi there. I'm responding to the person who wondered if other people felt the same way that he (or she?) felt about learning how to play piano? I'm new at this too, but I can definitely relate to how that person feels. Figuring out how to play something (anything really) that sounds like a real song is definitely a thrill.
But then I'm also turned on by the way the piano looks and sounds. Especially baby grand pianos. Mine is black, and I swear, I probably spend as much time polishing the thing as I spend trying to play it. Not quite sure what that means, but I can look at anything else in the room and be like, "Yeah, whatever. There's the couch, the table, the bookshelf. Whooptie doo." But when my eyes hit that piano, it's a totally different story. They glaze over like I just saw a million dollars or something. What is that?? True love I guess. **laugh**
Then when I hear the piano (not my own playing unfortunately), I get really happy. It's like I'm listening to an old friend from lifetimes ago. I love the way the instrument sounds and I love the way it looks. I can't wait to get home from school sometimes just so I can see it, touch it, and play it. Well, more like **try** to play it. **smile** I don't even care how much more difficult my lessons get. I look at my lessons as though they're challenges that I can't wait to beat, WHICH judging from my book of course, look like a freakin' mountain to climb. 50 lessons - Argh! (LOL)
Oh well. I could have a Mount Everest hill of piano books and I'd happily learn from all of them. So no, I definitely don't think that poster is alone. I think there's a lot of us out there that feel the same way we do.
